This policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your persona information. Our aim is to provide this to you in an open and transparent manner. What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. The information we collect will vary depending on your interaction with us but may include: 

  • Names, address and other contact details (such as telephone numbers) of you and your guests:

  • Gender;

  • Transaction details relating to any purchase(S) that you have made with us or that have been made on your behalf;

  • Details provided by you relating to the primary purpose of delivering services to you and your guests, such as information provided to support bespoke interactions; 

  • Any other personal information which may be required to facilitate your dealing with us;

How does Play Big collect personal information? 

The personal information is obtained in many ways including: 

  • when you purchase a ticket to our event (via our approved ticketing partner); 

  • When you contact us via email or phone; 

  • When you register for our marketing, newsletters, participate in our competitions or any other marketing campaign; 

  • Sign up for a waitlist

  • Make an enquiry or complaint

  • Have any other dealing with us either in person or over social media, the phone or in writing. 

In certain circumstances we may also collect information in the course of combining and analyzing data sets for our marketing purposes which, in and of themselves may not contain personal information.  

Sometimes we collect information about you from other sources, for example; 

  • people making a purchase on your behalf

  • third party suppliers and contractors who assist us to operate our business and deliver our services to you such as:

    • ticketing partners 

    • information technology partners

    • marketing and digital services suppliers (including social media suppliers) 

    • data partners 

    • analytics consultants 

    • publicly available sources of information 

Although we always align ourselves with reputable third party providers and take reasonable steps to protect your information, we do not guarantee website links or policy of authorized third parties.  

We collect personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing at contact@playbig.com.au 

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information however, if you choose to provide it to us in respect to delivering our services your sensitive information will only be used:

  • For the primary purpose for which it was obtained such as bespoke interactions, or specialty assistance at our event/s; 

  • For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

  • With your consent; or where required or authorized by law.

Disclosure of Personal information 

Your personal Information may be disclosed to third party service providers in the course of providing our services to you. These parties may have access to, or process personal data as part of providing those services to us such as, website hosting, computer systems maintenance, mail/email management, ticketing, security and fraud detection, and bespoke interaction partners. 

Our contracts with third party suppliers require them to maintain confidentiality of personal data however we do not guarantee website links or policy of authorized third parties.   

Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

  • To our, authorized third parties directly related to the primary purpose of delivering services to you. 

  • Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; 

  • To government bodies in response to, or in anticipation of pandemic or epidemic contract tracing related to public health orders or directions.  In this instance disclosure would be limited to name, email, contact phone number. 

  • Where required or authorized by law.

Social Media, Advertising and Marketing 

We may use your persona data for our marketing and advertising. Including, but not limited to email, SMS marketing and display media. 

We partner with third party ad networks to manage our advertising, including social media platforms. Our ad networks partners may use cookies and web beacons to collect information about your activities on our ads and website. 

Where you see an advertisement on a third party website or social media platform, this may be because we engaged the third party or social media platform to show the advertisement to its users, or to others who have similar attributes to our users. In some cases, this may involve sharing your email address or other contact details with the third party or social media platform so that they can identify you as one of our users, or identify other individuals with similar attributes to you in order to show them advertisements for our events. Play Big’s websites may use social media features, such as Meta Group and X (previously known as Twitter) sharing widgets. You may be given the option by such Social Media Features to post information about our events or your activities on to a profile page of yours that is provided by a third-party social media network in order to share content with others within your network. To the extent the Social Media Features are hosted by the respective social media networks and you click through to these from our website, the latter may receive information showing that you have visited our website. If you are logged in to your social media account, it is possible that the respective social media network can link your visit to our websites with your social media profile. Your interactions with Social Media Features are governed by the privacy policies (and any other applicable terms) of the respective companies that provide the relevant Social Media Features and platforms.

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.

You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing at contact@playbig.com.au You will be required to provide identification before releasing personal information and, may be charged a administrative fee for providing you a copy of your personal information. 

Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information

It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
